An undivided heartis one that has an intimate, loving and deep relationship with God and no other love comes before this. There is no competition in this heart, God is first.
We read the word "abide" over and over in John's writings and maybe aren't quite sure what he is trying to tell us. But that can't keep us from finding out exactly what was intended when he used that specific word. Okay, how?
You were designed by the hand and love of God. We were designed by God to be loved by Him and to love Him in return.
Emotions by themselves aren't right or wrong, it is what we do with them that make them good or bad. We can work on finding the underlying causes of feelings that effect our life with God. These issues can be the red light on our dashboard telling us to pull over and find the problem.
Spiritual formation is a process and a goal. We are “predestined to be conformed to the image of Christ.” That is a big statement that means it is our destiny that we will change (through a process and partnership with God) until we look, feel, think and act like His Son, Christ. Our Christian lives will only work when each part of ourselves is transformed to be like Christ and the Lord is committed to that goal.
Everything you do is directly related to your growth in Christ. Your thoughts, actions, goals, behaviors - good and bad - relationships, work, finances….it’s all spiritual and all reflective of your growth. Your spiritual maturity, or lack of it, shows in every one of these areas.
