Our hearts and minds sometimes really want to follow God, but our bodies, now that can be a whole other story especially with our culture's constant messages.
The church is grappling with what exactly is the role of Christian women in the church and women are trying as best they can to live and serve and grow within the parameters they are allowed. They crave depth in Christ and places to lead and serve, true community and a way to impact the world for Christ, but sometimes are only offered teas, crafts and classes on being a good wife and mother by the church.
In the beginning, God created all things, including the first man, Adam. He told Adam to do four things: cultivate the garden, keep it safe, eat the fruit from any tree but one, and name the animals. All this happened before God made the first woman, Eve, and she came on the scene.
You were made to love Him and He has given you a purpose on the earth. He has gifted you specifically for the task and you will glorify Him most when you live out His design fully. When you know that your main reason to exist is to be loved by God and to love Him with all that you are, then the next step is to figure out how specifically to do that. That means that you are unique. You alone can live out the life God designed for you.
Shifting the blame is a common method to get out of the guilt we would otherwise feel. If I can put the guilt on you, then I’m off the hook at least a little bit. In this study we will look at King Saul in 1 Samuel and his attempt to not take responsibility for his behavior by trying to shift the blame.
An undivided heartis one that has an intimate, loving and deep relationship with God and no other love comes before this. There is no competition in this heart, God is first.
We read the word "abide" over and over in John's writings and maybe aren't quite sure what he is trying to tell us. But that can't keep us from finding out exactly what was intended when he used that specific word. Okay, how?
You were designed by the hand and love of God. We were designed by God to be loved by Him and to love Him in return.
Emotions by themselves aren't right or wrong, it is what we do with them that make them good or bad. We can work on finding the underlying causes of feelings that effect our life with God. These issues can be the red light on our dashboard telling us to pull over and find the problem.
Everything you do is directly related to your growth in Christ. Your thoughts, actions, goals, behaviors - good and bad - relationships, work, finances….it’s all spiritual and all reflective of your growth. Your spiritual maturity, or lack of it, shows in every one of these areas.
